JAKARTA, Dec. 17 (Xinhua) -- Bank Indonesia (BI) has decided to keep its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 4.75 percent following the central bank's Board of Governors Meeting, BI governor Perry Warjiyo said on Wednesday.
BI also maintained the deposit facility rate at 3.75 percent and the lending facility rate at 5.5 percent, Warjiyo told a press conference after the meeting, which was held from Tuesday to Wednesday.
He said the decision was aimed at maintaining rupiah exchange rate stability amid ongoing global economic uncertainty, while reinforcing the transmission of existing monetary and macroprudential easing measures. ■
