BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- If the United States insists on imposing additional tariffs on China under the pretext of so-called "military product exports," China will take resolute countermeasures, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun told a daily press briefing on Tuesday.
According to media reports, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to impose a 50 percent tariff on China if the U.S. finds China supplying weapons to Iran.
Guo said that China has always adopted a prudent and responsible attitude towards military product exports, and strictly controlled them in accordance with its own export control laws and regulations and the international obligations it undertakes.
Relevant reports that China provides military support to Iran are completely fabricated, he added. ■
