NEW YORK, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Spain winger Victor Munoz has suffered a further muscle problem as he looks to prepare for his World Cup debut.
The winger's 40 million euro transfer to Premier League giant Liverpool was confirmed on Thursday, meaning he leaves Osasuna after just one season, but that was accompanied by the injury setback on training field as Spain faces Saudi Arabia in its second World Cup match.
The Spanish Football Federation announced that "his availability in the coming games will be determined by how his symptoms evolve."
Munoz, 22, was included in Luis de la Fuente's squad despite ending the season with a calf injury that stopped him playing in Osasuna's final matches in La Liga, and he has struggled to recover full fitness. ■
