ALMATY, Aug. 11 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's oil production fell 8.9 percent year on year to 53.2 million metric tons from January to July 2026, the country's Ministry of National Economy said Tuesday.

Despite the decline in oil production and volatility in global markets, Kazakhstan's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.1 percent in the first seven months of the year, the ministry said.

Economic growth was supported by the non-resource sector, which expanded 5.4 percent in the first seven months of the year, with manufacturing growing 9 percent, it added.

Economic diversification has reduced the oil sector's role in Kazakhstan's economy, with oil production accounting for 7.8 percent of GDP by the end of 2025, the ministry noted.
