After recent flooding hit Shangtun Village in Chunyang Township, Wangqing County, Northeast China's Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, the community faced an urgent post-disaster clean-up and reconstruction task.
On August 10, the Wangqing Zhuanshanbao Football Team - which had just clinched third place in the inaugural "Yanbian Super League" - swapped their jerseys for shovels. Eighteen players teamed up with four local cultural and tourism officials to form a 22-member volunteer squad, heading straight to Shangtun Village to join the front line of mud removal and rebuilding.
