BEIJING, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Ding Yexian, former deputy head of the standing committee of the People's Congress of the Xizang Autonomous Region in southwest China, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China (CPC), China's top anti-graft agency announced on Friday.
Upon the approval of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the National Commission of Supervision (NCS) had conducted an investigation into Ding's case, according to a statement by the CCDI and NCS.
The investigation found that Ding had lost his ideals and convictions, and resisted an official inquiry and investigation of his case, said the statement.
Ding was also found to have used his position and influence to benefit others in matters concerning company public listing, project contracting and business operations. In return, he accepted huge sums of money and valuables, the statement noted.
Ding violated the political, organizational and integrity discipline of the CPC, committed serious duty-related crimes and is suspected of bribery, the statement said.
In line with Party regulations and laws, a decision has been made to expel him from the Party, revoke his entitlements, terminate his capacity as a delegate to the 10th Party congress of the Xizang Autonomous Region, confiscate his illicit gains, and hand over his case for judicial proceedings. ■
