NOUAKCHOTT, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Mauritanian Prime Minister El Moctar Ould Djay submitted his government's resignation to President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani on Friday, the Mauritanian News Agency (AMI) reported.
The president received Ould Djay at the presidential palace in Nouakchott, where the prime minister presented the resignation, according to the agency.
Speaking after the meeting, Ould Djay thanked the president for entrusting him with coordinating the government's work since Aug. 2, 2024. ■
